Movie Trailer: The Mandalorian and Grogu

The galaxy’s favorite duo is officially making the jump to the big screen! A brand-new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu just debuted during the Super Bowl, giving fans a high-octane look at the first Star Wars film to hit theaters since 2019.

A Galactic Partnership

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film serves as a direct continuation of the hit Disney+ series. The story finds the New Republic in a state of fragile peace, enlisting the help of legendary bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his powerful apprentice Grogu to hunt down the remaining Imperial warlords threatening the outer reaches.

Classic Empire Vibes

The new footage is a dream come true for original trilogy fans. The trailer takes us back to a familiar frozen tundra—reminiscent of Hoth—complete with Tauntauns and a massive sequence featuring AT-AT walkers. One standout moment shows Din Djarin and Grogu riding a carriage pulled by Tauntauns, blending the show’s “space western” roots with the grand scale of The Empire Strikes Back.

New Faces and Fan Favorites

Beyond the action, the trailer highlights a stellar ensemble cast:

  • Sigourney Weaver joins the universe as Colonel Ward, a New Republic leader and former Rebel pilot.

  • Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) provides the voice for a surprisingly buff, grown-up Rotta the Hutt (the son of Jabba!).

  • Zeb Orrelios and the tiny, fan-favorite Anzellans are also spotted, proving that Favreau is pulling from every corner of the Star Wars mythos.

Mark your calendars—The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to conquer the box office on May 22, 2026.
