Planet Comicon KC Quick Review for Friday and Saturday

Planet Comicon is this weekend, as if you didn’t already know, and before I post some entries about the great sessions and cosplay, I thought I would review the overall feel of the first two days.

This year, for some reason, has a bit of a different feel than last year.  Maybe it was the fact that that they were a bit more packed with vendors and didn’t have some of the open areas.  Maybe it was the feeling of seeing the general admission attendees being treated like cattle in the pre-opening line.

Don’t get me wrong, @PCKC is a GREAT show and I plan on attending for a very long time.  Something just felt “different”.

Then again, maybe it was the INCREDIBLE artists they brought in.  Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Frank Cho, Skottie Young, Dan Jurgens, and Patrick Gleason.  That line-up alone for me would have made this one of the best Cons within driving distance, but all the incredible local artists who were there, as well as other top artists, made this a lot of fun even if a few other things were a bit off.

I will be posting on my experiences with getting signings, attending sessions, and maybe even spilling a few hints that may have been accidentally spilled along the way.

Overall, I have really enjoyed Friday and Saturday at Planet Comicon and look forward to a great Sunday.
