One of the best parts of covering a massive event like Planet Comicon Kansas City is that you never truly know who you’re going to run into. While wandering the floor, I did a total double-take when I thought I spotted WWE Superstar and social media titan Logan Paul filming content with cosplayers.
It turns out, I was looking at Rodney Peterson, the TikTok star famously known for his uncanny resemblance to the influencer.
The Encounter
I first noticed Rodney while he was filming videos with fans—he seemed particularly impressed by the high-quality Lara Croft cosplayers on the floor. Later, while I was sitting down to draft an article on a recent panel, Rodney actually approached me! Noticing my media pass, he struck up a conversation since he was also navigating the con with press credentials under his handle, Not_Logan_Paul.
The “Beef” with the Paul Brothers
Rodney couldn’t have been a cooler guy. He shared the story of actually meeting the Paul brothers in person. According to Rodney, Logan Paul told him that if he “beefed up” and put on some muscle, they would love to collaborate on a project together. The resemblance is so strong that it’s easy to see why the real Logan Paul took notice!
The Ultimate Prank
To test the resemblance, I sent a photo of Rodney to my son, Logan (who happens to be a vocal critic of the real Logan Paul). The “Not-Logan” look was so convincing that my son was certain I had actually run into the WWE star on the show floor!
Encounters like this are exactly what make covering this convention so “KOOL.” You might come for the comic creators and the big stage panels, but you stay for the unique personalities that make the community what it is.
Stay Geeky!
