Chuck Norris: The Enduring Legend of Action and Martial Arts – Passed Away

Chuck Norris passed away yesterday at the age of 86, having celebrated his birthday just over a week ago. His family has chosen to keep the circumstances surrounding his passing private.

Chuck Norris was a true action icon. He brought martial arts to mainstream cinema at a level never seen before. A world‑class martial artist, Norris held black belts in Brazilian jiu‑jitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Taekwondo. He also founded his own martial arts system, Chun Kuk Do.

Over the decades, Norris appeared in numerous action films and television series. He first gained widespread attention for his role as an antagonist opposite Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon. He later became synonymous with 1980s action cinema through films such as Missing in Action, Invasion U.S.A., The Delta Force, and Firewalker. He also appeared in The Expendables 2.

Perhaps his most iconic role, however, was as Cordell Walker in the long‑running television series Walker: Texas Ranger.

No discussion of Chuck Norris would be complete without mentioning the legendary “Chuck Norris jokes.” He became the subject of countless tongue‑in‑cheek lines highlighting his toughness, strength, and intensity. Memorable examples include:
“Chuck Norris’ tears can cure cancer. Too bad Chuck Norris never cries.”
“When Chuck Norris does a push‑up, he doesn’t push himself up—he pushes the Earth down.”
“Chuck Norris is the nightmare Freddy Krueger has.”

Chuck always took these jokes in stride and often played along, appreciating the humor and the affection behind them.

By all accounts, Chuck Norris was a genuinely good man. He strove to be a positive role model, balancing discipline, faith, and humility with a strong sense of humor.

Rest in peace, Chuck. You will be missed.
