William Shatner Live Reading to Kids

William+Shatner+Shatner+Live

William Shatner was kind enough to take a break from his normal convention schedule at the recent 2013 Denver Comic-Con to spend some stage time in front of a crowd of children to read the classic story “Where The Wild Things Are” as only Mr. Shatner can.

The gathering was to help bring awareness to the Comic Book Classroom literacy project, a Colorado-based community program being used to promote literacy and problem-solving skills to underprivileged children around of the state.  The project uses comic books as the foundation of its curriculum aiming to increase overall student achievement and develop personal awareness, and is mainly funded by proceeds from the Denver Comic-Con.

Mr. Shatner’s intensity may not have best embellished the story, but it’s still pretty awesome.   He even prefaced the reading with a few science lessons, so it’s worth taking a look.  These few minutes may not mean much to those kids right now, but one day they will be aware of how KOOL this was.

And, hey, we can all be thankful that he at least didn’t tell them to “Get a Life!
