I don’t think anyone will be surprised by this match up other than it took so long to occur. The space explorers of the 23rd century will meet the heroes of tomorrow from the 31st century. They both have Federations but they are a bit different. It will be interesting to see if the Legion incorporates the Star Trek as part of their past or if they are a part of a different dimension.
Kirk, Spock, Bones, and the rest of the Enterprise crew have already crossed over with other super-heroes in the past. They met up with the genetic mutants of the X-Men back in the 90’s. I believe the Legion will be a bit more welcoming than Wolverine. Since Legion is DC and X-Men are Marvel, it would be fun to have Spock make a reference to their previous crossover with super types.
I am looking forward to this and will be adding this to my pull list.
