SciFi Podcaster and all around good guy George Silsby Passed away today. George founded and ran the Super Geeks weekly YouTube show, with co-hosts Justin Burton, Carlos Pedrazza and others. George was a Veteran, and a well known Cosplayer(mostly as Batman). George was one of the few “REALLY GOOD GUYS” around.
On December 12th, George was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He started on Chemo, but further testing showed that the cancer was to far along for treatment, and on December 19th, he was moved into Hospice care, he was given a time frame of weeks to months. Unfortunately that was “best guess” thinking, and it was not to be. The “Super Geeks” team spoke with George on Friday and while he couldn’t talk much, they were able to get a smile out of him a couple of times.
George’s friends led by my friend Joe Diaz set up a GoFundMe campaign on December 12th, first it was set up to help George with food and transportation thoughts, however with his time time being very short, George asked for the donations to help his family, especially his daughter. In 10 days the GoFundMe has raised $3575. They have a goal of $5000. The donations continue to come in, I hope GeekyKool readers and friends will help his immediate family with further expenses.
