Netflix to Raise Rates

The prices are going up for most U.S. Netflix Subscribers. They are raising their rates on their standard and premium plans.  The rates go up on October 19th.

“The middle tier that enables Netflix watching on two devices simultaneously will go up from $9.99 per month to $10.99 per month. The top tier that includes ultra HD and four-device simultaneous viewing will go from $11.99 per month to $13.99 per month. The basic plan will stay the same price of $7.99”  (Gizmodo)

Netflix last raised their prices in 2015.  Two years later, the prices are going back up again.  Since the last rate hike, Netflix has added some interactive content an the ability to download shows and movies for offline viewing.

Netflix continues to be the big boy in the streaming service. They have taken a few hits lately with BBC America and now Disney pulling out after their contract expires.  But Netflix has been hugely successful with their original content.
