Netflix Announces a Live Action Avatar: The Last Airbender series

Hollywood attempted to adapt the Nickelodeon animated series,  Avatar: The Last Airbender, into a live action movie back in 2010.  This was a critical failure on their part.  The hope of fans to see a great version of their favorite anime series was lost.  Now that hope has been restored.  Netflix has announced a live action series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.   The the below tweet.

Netflix also announced via tweet the return of the animated show creators,Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Here are the comments from Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko in the Netflix announcment.  “We’re thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. We can’t wait to realize Aang’s world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build upon everyone’s great work on the original animated series and go even deeper into the characters, story, action, and world-building.”
