I hate when Hollywood thinks they have to update a classic like Robocop. But this remake does look intriguing. I will probably see this movie. What do you think about this trailer?

I’m a big fan of RoboCop so I’m not saying this will be bad because I really can not tell from the trailer. It looks like they changed his signature line, so that’s not a good sign. But, why oh why, cover up that wonderful two-tone silver and black with all black? It looks hideous. Honestly, it feels like they threw nostalgia, some highly geek-approved actors (Nick Fury, Batman AND Commissioner Gordon, and Rorchach at least), and some so-so updated FX against the wall and this movie is what we get. The first movie was about corporations and the fall of Detroit intertwined with morality. This looks like robot vs. robots and may rely too much on the family that’s left behind instead of the criminal element. Leaving the suit silver and black along with the other changes would have made me enjoy the trailer more though.
I guess I shouldn’t complain about the black suit. I guess that’s what you get when you ask frakin’ Batman to choose a color scheme. It’s only acceptable maybe because he did it, though! lol
