Marvel’s Captain Marvel Movie Details

One of the numerous but exciting announcements from San Diego Comic Con was about  Marvel’s Captain Marvel and the details about this Movie.  I am anticipating this movie.  Over the last 5 years, Captain Marvel has become one of my favorite comic characters.  She is one of the more powerful characters in the Marvel Universe but she is one of the most thoughtful.

Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s.  This is long before Tony Stark becomes Iron Man in 2008. This film will involve the eye patch-less Nick Fury in his younger days .  The release date updated to March 8, 2019.

The villains of this film will be the alien Skrulls. These green skinned aliens can change their look to be anyone.  They are good at infiltrating planets and governments.

The Skrulls are sworn enemies of the Kree.  Captain Marvel’s powers are Kree based.  The Kree also genetically enhanced the Inhumans.

There are questions about the Skrulls being used on the MCU.  They were originally a race that fought by the Fantastic Four. Director James Gunn recently confirmed that the Skrulls are a shared property between both the MCU and Fox like Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.  Specific members of Skrulls like Super Skrull are own by specific sides but the race in general is not.

How will the Kree be discovered?  Will the movie mention the original Captain Mar-Vel or ignore his character completely? Will Howard Stark make an appearance?  Many questions will not be answered until the trailers come out and some not until the movie hits theaters.
