ComicBook.com has an interesting story about the National Rugby League debuting Marvel Character based uniform shirts soon.
Each team has been designated a character from what appears to be the Avengers movies.
This is an interesting marketing ploy from a few points. First, is Rugby that popular in the US right now that Marvel feels this was a good play. Second, maybe the Rugby league came to Marvel and suggested using this to raise popularity? Update: This is for the Australian Rugby League which explains the popularity side. Still would be kool with an American league.
Whatever the reason, the uniforms are very kool. I would love to see one of the more popular sports take up this for a week/weekend. American Football could do this easily.
