“Believe it or not, I’m walking on air. I never thought I could feel so free eee eee. Flying away on a wing and a prayer. Who could it be? Believe it or not it’s just me.”

I remember when the Greatest American Hero television series premiered in 1981.  My parents took our family to hang out with some of their friends, who lived an hour from our home.  I was so nervous because I had wanted to see this series from the commercials.  This was before DVRs or even VCRs were readily available (hard for some to believe).  I was able to catch most of the first episode at their home. My parents had to wait for it to end for us to leave that night.

I loved this comical superhero show of the 80s where the suit was put on by the wrong person and the instruction manual was lost.  Trying to watch Ralph fly was an experience all of its own. It reminded me of trying to learn to skateboard while living in the country (didn’t work well).

Like most things from the 80s, this fun show is getting rebooted.  Well it at least is getting a chance to be rebooted. The Fox Network as ordered a pilot episode for the reboot.  This television show will be ran by Writers/Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller of the Lego Movie fame.

My biggest issue with this reboot is the fact it will be on the Fox Network, who is known for putting out great sci fi series and then killing them before giving them a chance.  I almost don’t want to like a series on Fox out of fear that they will kill it like Firefly, Dark Angel, Space: Above & Beyond, and many other KOOL series.

One last note, if you are going to make a reboot of The Greatest American Hero, you better keep the great theme song.  Just sayin!

“Believe it or not, I’m walking on air…”

Stay Geeky My Friends!
