Fallout Shelter: Is It August 13th Yet?

Between the wait for Fallout 4 and the wait for Fallout Shelter to come to Android devices, I’m forced to go back to playing Fallout: New Vegas, as I’ve thoroughly explored the wasteland that is DC in Fallout 3 and have no access to the original games.

Not that you really had to force my hand or anything, I don’t mind putting countless hours into a game where it constantly frustrates me and has me saving like an insane person because it lags freezes like no tomorrow, but this wait is killing me. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted November to come so soon. It will be fun to explore a huge world full of possibilities again and the graphics blew me away. But August 13th is coming.

Fallout Shelter is a mobile free to play game that was announced at E3 2015 and released the same day. It was developed by Bethesda Game Studios with help from Behaviour Interactive and published by Bethesda Softworks. From what I have gathered, you run the vault as the Overseer controlling the vault dwellers who, in turn, gather resources to keep the vault running. Sounds easy enough, but it’s all about balance.  The only in-game purchases are lunchboxes that unlock extra content and even then the least you can spend is 99 cents. I find this fact refreshing considering how rare that is in a phone game.

Man, just talking about it has made me anxious! I promise to give my full opinion as soon as I can play Fallout Shelter and hopefully between it and New Vegas it’ll tide me over until Fallout 4. Until then, I bid you vale.

  1. Awesome article Terra. Thank you for posting on these games. Game review and opinions is something Geeky KOOL has been needing to add.
