According to reports at teamfreewill.net, a news website for the TV show Supernatural, fan favorite Bobby Singer will return to Supernatural in Season 9. The report doesn’t disclose any details such as when or how he comes back from the dead (currently in Heaven). It also doesn’t state if Bobby will return as a regular or if this is only for one episode.

Jim stated in one of his tweets that he was surprised by how he will come back and it will shock the fans.
Bobby has had a turbulent life after his shocking death a season and a half ago. Firstly, he chose to stay on Earth as a ghost instead of accepting his death and a place in Heaven. It took him a long time to make himself known the boys and was able to help them out for a short time. Eventually, he agreed to give up on being a ghost and move on to the afterlife. His spirit was released for Heaven but Crowley (head demon of Hell) drug his soul to Hell. He was tortured in Hell for months. Finally, Sam and Dean were able to rescue him from Hell and his soul was release to Heaven. Apparently his stay in Heaven will be short since he is coming back.
This announcement is having some mixed reactions in the fandom. Many are excited to have Bobby return and are extremely hopeful that he will once again be a regular cast member. Some can’t wait for this character to express his unique Bobby-isms and curse words.
But others are wondering what meaning death has for any character on this series. We know that Sam and Dean regular have died and come back from Hell, Heaven, and Purgatory (nothing like what my Catholic friends have described to me). Killing a character on this show is almost as bad as killing a superhero in comics today.
I think this news will be positive with most fans. I know I have some concerns with Bobby coming back but more than once last year, I lamented that the show is not the same without this old coot.
