Actress Anjli Mohindra portrayed Rani Chandra on The Sarah Jane Adventures. She first appeared on the Doctor Who spin off (Companion series) in 2008 with the episode, The Day of the Clown. She remained on the series until it ended in 2011.
Now Mohindra returns to the shared universe for the Twelfth season of Doctor Who. She will be Queen Skithra in either episode 6 or 7 of Season 12. Peter Capaldi, the 12th Doctor, had previous portrayed Lobus Caecilius in the 2008 episode, The Fires of Pompeii so this does have in the Whoverse.
