There has been rumors about a second Walking Dead series for about a year. Today, AMC ordered a pilot episode for second series. This second series will focus on other characters and another part of the world from the main characters of the Walking Dead show. There is no word on a potential name for the second series.
This second series will continue to have Robert Kirkman, Walking Dead creator/comic writer, heavily involved. Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert are the current producers and are expected to be involved. Dave Erickson co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman and will serve as Exec Producer/Showrunner.
