Peter Capaldi , the 12th Doctor, will leave the British Science Fiction series, Doctor Who, at the end of 2017. Capaldi confirmed this with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2. His last episode will be at the end of 10th season (since the relaunch) with the Christmas Episode.
Capaldi has all of the next season to say goodbye to fans. There will be 12 season episodes in the 10th season followed by the Christmas episode. The episodes are set to start airing in April in England.
Capaldi isn’t the only one leaving at the end of Season 10. Doctor Who show runner, Steven Moffatt, will step away at the end of the 10th season. Chris Chibnall will take over as the new show runner and he will have a new Doctor.
